This last weekend our company was in Laughlin for a 3 day show at the Tropicana. It was such a great opportunity, and we met some awesome new people. If you were able to stop by and see us, thank you so much for your support!
This week I am diving into a new video series on my favorite vest carrier for holding our steel plates. That is the DDT York vest. This plate carrier is seriously so perfect for steels, I suggest it to everyone at our shows and offer them to try it on. People often have the idea that steel plates are outrageously heavy and cumbersome.
So yes, steel plates are heavier than our ultralight plates, but I made this series of videos to show how to capitalize on this extra weight. And with that being said, with the right fitting plate carrier system, steels do not have to FEEL that heavy. One of the reasons that this vest, DDT York, is my favorite for steel plates is how padded the shoulders are and how much extra padding the inside of the vest actually has.
The other great feature on this vest is how elastic and adjustable the sides are. You can really cinch the sides down so that your hips take the majority of the weight, and your shoulders don't get overburdened when wearing the vest for extended periods of time.
As I continue to post this video series, I also talk about how these vests, with steel plates, serve a dual purpose. Not only do you get Level 3+ ballistic protection, but you can also use these as weighted vests to elevate your workout routine. Weighted vests cost so much as it is anyway, why not just get the real thing and buy yourself some protection while you're at it?
I hope to help break the stagnant views of steel armor and show everyone that steel is useful in more ways than one and yes, even women can comfortably wear rigid body armor! Let's crush those fitness goals together and stay safe at the same time, invest in some weighted armor, it'll be worth it :)
